We are SO excited for Saturday! We are humbled and honored by all of the donations and support from our community to help raise awareness for cancer.
CANCER TRIBUTE & HOMECOMING GAMES
We will be honoring both cancer victims and survivors all day during each of our five home games. This is a wonderful chance to honor family members or friends who have battled cancer. Please forward names of people you would like honored to your Team Mom.
Here is our Saturday game line-up – ALL teams playing at HOME:
9am – Liberty 5/6 Blue vs. Century 5/6 Teal
11am – Liberty 5/6 Gold vs. Southridge 5/6 Black
1pm – Liberty 3/4 Blue vs. Century 3/4 Teal
3pm – Liberty JV Blue vs. Wilsonville JV Blue
5pm – Liberty Varsity Blue vs. Lake Oswego Varsity Navy
Coaches will be conducting a 10 minute huddle to discuss cancer and its impact on society, explain to the boys what the pink represents and then reward each player with a pink ribbon sticker for their helmet. This sticker will signify their understanding of why we wear pink and serve as our league show of solidarity come Saturday.
Any additional pink gear being worn must be approved by your Head Coach. Most teams have decided to wear the sticker alone as their show of solidarity as often we find the excessive showing of pink detracts from the actual meaning. Please partner with your head coach to understand what is acceptable for your team.
We will be conducting an assortment of raffles all day Saturday. Twenty-five percent of all proceeds will be donated to Children’s Cancer Association (joyrx.org) a wonderful organization here in Portland that serves kids stricken with cancer.
Raffles this year include:
- 100-Level Trailblazers tickets
- Symphony Tickets
- Restaurant Gift Certificates
- Free Registration Liberty Youth Basketball (2016-2017 season)
- Free Registration Liberty Youth Baseball (2017)
- Free Registration Liberty Youth Football (2017 season)
- Tickets will be 1 ticket for $2, or 3 tickets for $5.
In addition we will be doing a 50/50 raffle for $5/ticket.
Drawings to occur upon the conclusion of the final game of the night – around 7:00pm – winners need not be present to win
Since Saturday is the last home game for our varsity team, we would like to recognize the coaches and players immediately following their game (around 7:00 pm). Please join us in celebrating our varsity coaches for their years of volunteer service to Liberty Youth Football. We also want to celebrate our graduating youth varsity players and wish them all the best as they continue their football careers at Liberty High School.
We are pleased to announce Bro-dogs Food Cart will be onsite in the afternoon providing delicious food and beverages. For the morning games, we will have coffee and donuts for sale while supplies last.
Looking forward to a great day! GO FALCONS!
